We cordially invite you to the official inauguration of the “LUNA Analog Facility” in Cologne, Germany, on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, from 2 p.m. Together with representatives from government, science and industry as well as from almost all ESA member states and media, we would like to celebrate the opening of the lunar facility with open access for German, European and international partners.

The "LUNA Analog Facility", part of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Exploration programme, is a pioneering facility for the preparation of future astronautical and robotic missions on the surface of the Moon. The facility will be part of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) campus in Cologne. The joint DLR and ESA project will establish an internationally recognised centre of excellence for lunar activities as a German-European contribution to advance space exploration. It will cover the entire spectrum from the testing of ARTEMIS mission procedures to a wide range of terrestrial spin-off applications and the creation of high-quality technology start-ups.

Please register by 1 September 2024.

You will receive your personal access ticket after your registration. Further information and the programme can be found here.

We look forward to seeing you.

Yours sincerely,

Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla
